You might wonder why it’s named English Teacher KBob. Well, it’s simple yet personal. This site bears my nickname and my mission. KBob isn’t just a name; it’s a nod to my father, Bob, and an ode to being Bob Jr. in a vibrant family of eight siblings, all starting with ‘K’.
My teaching career began in 2006, and since then, I’ve navigated through the entire spectrum of English language teaching, from playdough-smeared tables in pre-K to the earnest gazes of adult learners.
In 2017, I found my calling teaching ESL at an adult school, and I’ve been loving it. It’s great.
So yes, I’m an English teacher, but I’m also KBob, a culmination of family legacy and a lifetime of lessons both taught and learned.
The KBob in EnglishteacherKBob isn’t just branding; it’s my marker for authenticity, quality, and earnestness in the world of English language education.Mission Statement
Mission Statement
At English Teacher KBob, my mission is to empower beginner-level adult ESL learners from around the world to confidently practice and improve their English skills in a supportive, interactive, and engaging online environment. Through free resources, collaborative opportunities like the ESL Study Buddy program, and personalized paid classes, I aim to make English learning accessible and effective for everyone. My goal is to create a vibrant community where learners connect, grow, and achieve their language goals, one conversation at a time.
My English Teaching Odyssey: From Pre-K to ESL Master
You want to learn English and I’m here to help you with exactly that. My journey as an English teacher began way back in 2006. That year marked the start of a commitment to education, and since then, teaching English has been a significant part of my life.
What makes me qualified? Well, I’m a certified English teacher who has taught at every level you can think of. From the energetic buzz of a pre-K classroom to the focused diligence of adult school, I’ve experienced it all. And these experiences have equipped me with an extensive toolkit of teaching strategies tailored for every learning style.
However, the transition to adult education wasn’t just happenstance. I deliberately chose to focus on teaching English as a second language to adults because I saw the profound impact it could have. It’s about connecting with learners who bring rich, diverse lived experiences to the table, and that, to me, is inspiring. Teaching ESL since 2017 has been an enriching phase of my career, particularly because of the ripple effect it has on communities.
This chapter of my teaching story isn’t just about me imparting lessons; it’s also about the victories and progress of my students. Every time a student grasps a new concept, gains confidence in conversation, or achieves their language goals, it underscores the value of what we’re doing here. Their success defines my success and motivates me to keep evolving as an educator.
More Than Just an English Teacher: KBob Outside the Classroom
So you’ve gotten to know me, KBob, as the passionate educator behind English Teacher KBob. But there’s more to my story than the classroom. I’m Bob Jr., proudly carrying on the name from my father, whose heartwarming tale has always been an inspiration in my life.
As the first of eight siblings, all with names starting with ‘K,’ my family dynamics have taught me the importance of individual attention—a value I bring to every lesson. My unique upbringing isn’t just an interesting tidbit; it’s foundational to my approach in teaching adults from diverse backgrounds.
Beyond the realms of English grammar and pronunciation, I have my fair share of hobbies that keep me balanced. Whether it’s diving into a good book, exploring nature, or enjoying a weekend DIY project, these activities are a big part of who I am.
Now that you’ve caught a glimpse of the person behind the nickname, I invite you to become a part of the English Teacher KBob community.
Reach out, share your stories, and let’s continue this learning journey together. Your first step in mastering English as a second language doesn’t have to be daunting—I’m here to help you through it, step by step, with the same care and attention I learned from being KBob in a big, loving family.

Your story is incredibly inspiring, KBob! It’s amazing to see how your journey led you to teaching ESL, especially to adults. Your late entry into the teaching profession and your own struggles with education make you relatable to many of your students, and I think that’s a beautiful thing. I’m particularly moved by your dedication to making English learning accessible to everyone, regardless of their background or age. What inspired you to create this website and offer these resources? Also, do you have any plans to expand your teaching methods to include other forms of media, like podcasts or YouTube videos? Keep up the fantastic work!
Hi dreamgirl93. I appreciate your comments. Thanks for leaving them. As for your questions, I have made YouTube videos for some of the posts on my site. I’m in the process of making one for more of them, if not all of them.
I plan to do some YouTube Live and I will utilize Zoom for classes as well.
What inspired me to create this site was/is that I’m at retirement age (actually beyond retirement age). I love what I’m doing, teaching ESL, but I want to be able to do it from wherever I am in the world. It’s not that I don’t enjoy working where I do and with the people I work with. I do, but I don’t want to go on doing it that way for ever.
Hence, the retirement plan I mentioned and that you referenced.
Feel free to leave comments and/or questions anytime. I will promptly respond.

I love that you are following your passion. Life’s too short to not enjoy what you’re doing.
Additionally, when you are passionate and excited about what you are doing you put more into it and typically then also excel at it. I have also found personally that it is very rewarding to teach students who are eager to learn. Great Job Kbob!
Hello Daniel. Thanks for your comments. You’re absolutely correct. Passion makes for a fun time. Even though my students may not understand the word enthusiasm, they all feel it. Many of them have told me in whatever level of English they are that they love my level of passion and enthusiasm.

I speak english, this is one of the most used language in the world, one thing that I found so amazing however is that someone told me that english is one of the most difficult language to learn. Is this so? and if yes why is this? I find the english language to be amazing.
Hi Norman. Thanks for your comments. Yes, English is a very difficult language to learn, especially if it’s not someone’s first language. Even for many of those whose first language is English, it’s a difficult language to master.
Why?
It’s because English is derived from a variety of languages. Because of that, there are so many exceptions and variations, it can make if difficult to find patterns and absolutes.
I tell my students to do their best to learn the rules to help create a foundation but not to worry about all the exceptions and variations. I tell them they will have to learn them over time.

Kbob, I recently made an attempt to provide my feedback about your website on a different platform but encountered some difficulties. Therefore, I’ve decided to share my thoughts here. Your site is impressively designed and incredibly user-friendly. I particularly appreciate the inclusion of Google Translate to assist individuals who may not be proficient in the English language. Given the current state of the English language, your site represents a positive step forward in helping people grasp sentence structure and the correct use of mechanics to create coherent sentences. I applaud your dedication to teaching, as it is a valuable skill that is often overlooked, and your commitment to it makes you a significant contributor to society. I sincerely thank you for your efforts! Your website is truly excellent.
