What Makes This Site The Best?

Rapport with class

It begins and ends with me, the teacher. It’s not to say I’m the only teacher who can teach English. Everyone knows that’s not true.

It does mean that my expertise in being able to personally address your particular needs and how to best address those needs is second to none.

This site is forever changing and updating in order to better serve English learners.

The rapport I have with adult ESL students is remarkable, on both a personal one-on-one basis as well as with groups of students.

I specialize in creating a community of learning that values all students and encourages everyone to work toward what’s best for individuals and groups.

On the other hand, for those students who prefer to work independently, you are also welcome.

Everyone is different and everyone learns in different ways.

My task is to help you decide what is/are the best learning method(s) for each student and group of students.

A little about me:

I am a highly qualified English teacher.  I have an associate’s degree in language arts, a bachelor’s degree in communication, teaching credentials that allow me to teach all levels of English and social science (pre-school to adult), which includes teaching English as a second language. I also have a master’s degree in educational foundations.

I began teaching English in 2006. I began teaching English to adults in 2017. I began teaching English online in 2020.

Although, I currently teach beginning level English as a second language (ESL) at an adult school, I have successfuly taught all levels of ESL

Teaching beginners is difficult for many ESL teachers.  I thrive on it.

I love teaching ESL to adults.

How And Where Do We Begin?

The beginning

My beginner classes literally begin at the very beginning, A, B, C, 1, 2, 3.

The fact you’re reading this indicates to me that we have already begun, especially if you continue to read.

From here, I need to learn about you so we can customize a learning plan for you.

I invite you to ask me any questions you have about me.

I ask you to send me an email at KBob@EnglishTeacherKBob.com to answer some preliminary questions to get the process of customizing a plan of action started for you;

  • What is your first name and last name?
  • What country do you live in?
  • What is your native/first language?
  • What level of English learning do you think you are (beginner/intermediate/advanced)?
  • What do you think you need the most help with? (reading/writing/listening/speaking/vocabulary/grammar/pronunciation)?
  • Is there anything else you think you need help with?

If you can’t answer in English, answer in your own language and I will use the translator.

If you don’t know any English and/or if you don’t know how to answer any of the questions, simply answer by saying “I don’t know” or IDk.

After I receive your email I will contact you and we will discuss how to move forward.

What Will It Cost For Us To Work Together?

cost

It may not cost you anything but your time. I can’t specifically answer what it will cost for you personally because I don’t know anything about you.

You are free to take advantage of everyting you find on this website, which includes any and all of my recommendations, at no cost ($0) to you.

New lessons are added regularly. Free live and recorded classes are forthcoming.

  • Aside from that, it depends on your needs.
  • Will we be working privately, one-on-one?
  • Will we be working in a small group (2-5 students)?
  • Will we be working in a larger group (up to 20 students)?
  • Will we be working in a very large group (up to 100 students)?
  • Will our classes be up to 25 minutes, up to 55 minutes, or up to 85 minutes each or more?
  • Will you only be working independently and sending me work to review and provide feedback for you?

My fee is $75 US dollars per hour. 50-55 minutes is an hour. 20-25 minutes is a half-hour.

How much each person pays, depends on how many students are in a class.

We will discuss this in more detail so each of is clear about what to expect before going forward.

Meanwhile, as stated above, take advantage of whatever you can for free.

What Will We Do In The Classes?

What we will do

We will do whatever is necessary to help you learn English.  Exactly what that means depends on you and what you need.

One thing is for sure, I’m a strong proponent of fundementals.

I’ve found that many students who are in advanced classes and consider themselves to be advanced English learners, often do not have a firm grasp on some very basic concepts and elements of English.

I’m amazed how many students do not fully understand how to conjugate the verbs be and do. I’ve also found that many English learners get confused about verb tense.

I will make sure you have a firm foundation for your understanding of English to stand on, no matter what level you are.

If you have a solid foundation, you will have a much easier time moving forward. If you don’t, you will have a difficult time. I will make sure to remove any and all barriers that stand in the way of you learning and progressing.

I’m a staunch believer that the true measure of a student’s learning is the student’s ability to put concepts and what they’ve learned in his/her own words. I fnd that the best instrument for measuring that is through writing.

Furthermore, writing solidifies learning and as people become better writers, often without them even realizing it, people find themselves not only learning to write, but also writing to learn.

I’ve seen it happen time and time again.

Aside from what I’ve mentioned here, some of the other activities include:

  • Vocabulary expansion
  • Grammar activities
  • Video instruction
  • Conversation
  • Games
  • More

  1. Hi KBob,

You seem to be an established English teacher who knows what they’re doing.

In all honesty, I’m not here to learn English; while I’m not a native speaker, I’d like to say that I can speak and write rather well. However, I’m a big fan of your structured approach to tutoring and private lessons.

I am a part-time mathematics and engineering tutor, but I can definitely take some pointers.

    • Hi Yusuf, it’s great to hear from you.  What is your native/first language?

I appreciate your comments.  Yes, from what I can see, you write in English rather well. I will assume your speaking is equally good.

Math and engineering instruction is and will always be in demand. I hope you enjoy teaching/tutoring those subjects as much as I enjoy teaching ESL

Leave questions and comments here any time. I’m happy to help and will promptly respond.

      KBob
