It’s really encouraging to see practical advice aimed at adults juggling busy schedules while still wanting to learn English. I’ve noticed that mindset plays a huge role, especially for those who feel it’s “too late” to start. Have you found certain methods work better for building consistency when someone has an unpredictable routine, like shift work? Also, I wonder how much of a role speaking practice with native speakers plays compared to passive learning like podcasts or videos. From my own experience, short but daily interactions, even just replying to comments on English forums, helped me stay engaged without feeling overwhelmed. What strategies do you recommend to avoid burnout while maintaining steady progress?
Hi Slavisa, thanks for your comments. It was my intention to embed the answer to your question in the lesson, which you seemed to already answer yourself. The adage, what’s the best way to devour an elephant? One bite at a time. The same goes for most anything that seems monumental to us. We have to deal with everyday life no matter what. By incorporating small, bite-size habits into the everyday grind, they will slowly but surely begin to pay off. By trying to devour the entire elephant in one sitting, we are sure to burn out. It’s too much to digest.
